In this talk, Reza Khorshidi, AIG’s Chief Scientist (Global), will cover how to determine the right amount of AI investment for your company (regardless of size) and how to recruit and develop the right teams to create “AI-first” products.
About the Speaker
Global Chief Scientist
Reza is AIG’s Global Chief Scientist since January 2017; prior to that he led AIG’s Science team for EMEA joining AIG in 2012. He is also a Principal Investigator at Oxford University's Deep Medicine Program (part of Oxford Martin School) focused on healthcare innovation, and the use of AI in digital health ecosystems. He has a PhD in computational neuroscience and machine learning from the University of Oxford.
The Science Team at AIG focuses on building AI-first software products and carries out machine learning research and development. A bit unconventional, the Science Team approach teams up artificial intelligence and machine learning specialists along with design professionals and clear product partnerships to create a winning product centered around AI. AI is a key driver of the design from the beginning, and not just adding AI features to an existing product.
Examples of AI-first products developed at AIG include:
Intelligent Risk Management (IRM) - A comprehensive AI-driven solution that digests a large amount of unstructured data through cutting-edge algorithms to provide actionable insights.
Donut - A scalable, broker-facing platform leveraging the latest digital design, development and AI techniques to improve the current user experience, support underwriting, and optimize internal processes, as well as risk mitigation, upselling and cross-selling.
Commercial property AI - Enhanced data capture and analysis utilizing meta data providers of geo location and property attributes, and extracting data from imagery using the latest AI techniques in computer vision.
