In 2013, AmCham had its first ever Corporate Citizenship Awards. Leveraging its success, AmCham inaugurated AmCham CARES (Corporate and Societal Action: Recognition for Excellence in Singapore) award program in 2016.
AmCham CARES honors AmCham member organizations from a variety of business sectors and industries for demonstrating excellent understanding of the linkages between business operations and society. The inaugural awards were given to 30 companies and presented by Kirk Wagar, U.S. Ambassador to Singapore, at the AmCham 43rd Annual General Meeting on April 22, 2016.
AmCham CARES is not a competition. It requires companies to meet certain criteria with their corporate programs. AmCham CARES is a great way to benchmark, share best practices, and look at ways to improve companies’ current CSR programs.
- Raises awareness of CSR and corporate citizenship among AmCham members;
- Recognizes firms with best practice programs;
- Gathers information about best practices to share with all AmCham members; and
- Demonstrates continued AmCham leadership among chambers in Singapore.
