APCAC Goes to
Washington - Trade and Tax On the Agenda
June 22 - 26, 2008 –
AmCham Singapore along with eight AmChams from
The Asia-Pacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce (APCAC)
will meet with Executive Branch and Congressional leaders in
Washington, DC, the week, to advocate on behalf of Americans abroad
during APCAC's annual Washington meeting, known as the APCAC
Doorknock.
This year's Doorknock will focus on three key
issues: (1) promoting American competitiveness abroad through the
US tax laws; (2) promoting trade liberalization; (3) and encouraging
greater U.S. engagement in the Asia Pacific region.
This year's
delegation will be led by Kristin E. Paulson, APCAC Chair and past
Chair of AmCham Singapore. She is also President of United
Technologies International Operations for South Asia Pacific.
Kristin was elected in March to chair APCAC, and succeeds Landis
Hicks, Executive Vice President of PAE.
APCAC comprises 25
member AmChams, and represents the growing interests of over 50,000
executives and more than 10,000 businesses in 19 Asia Pacific
countries. APCAC's members manage trade volumes in excess of US$400
billion and foreign direct investments (FDI) of nearly US$300
billion.
AmCham Requests Clarification On China's Visa
Application Process
May 5, 2008 – AmCham is following with great interest the
developments related to the issuance of visas to China. AmCham has
kindly requested that the Embassy of the People's Republic of China
in Singapore clarify issues which will help its members continue to

APCAC Leads Coalition To Eliminate Unfair Taxation of U.S. Citizens
Abroad
April 1, 2008 – The Asia-Pacific Council of
American Chambers of Commerce (APCAC), together with several of its
member American Chambers of Commerce in Asia, launched The Alliance
for a Competitive Tax Policy, which seeks to eliminate the unfair
