AmCham Singapore and the US-ASEAN Business Council are pleased to invite you to a Briefing on ASEAN Smart Cities Network.

As this year’s ASEAN Chair, Singapore has proposed to establish an ASEAN Smart Cities Network (ASCN). The ASCN is envisioned as a collaborative platform where up to three cities from each ASEAN Member State (AMS) work towards the common goal of smart and sustainable urban development. Specifically, the ASCN aims to:

·         Facilitate cooperation on smart cities development.

·         Catalyse bankable projects with the private sector.

·         Secure funding and support from ASEAN’s external partners.

On May 22-25, 2018, ASEAN cities and their National Representatives to ASCN held a Smart Cities Governance Workshop. As part of the workshop, Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs  invited partner countries including the United States to participate in a full day meeting on Friday, May 25, where ASEAN cities shared their plans.

US-ABC and AmCham Singapore representatives will conduct a briefing on the outcomes of this meeting for US-ABC and AmCham Singapore members on Tuesday, June 12, 2018. We recommend companies in the infrastructure, transportation, waste management, energy and info-communications technology (ICT) industries to join us for this session. Please review the following documents in advance:

ASCN Concept Note (Singapore’s proposal)

ASCN Presentation by Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs

ASCN Focus Areas and Projects of Cities

We look forward to seeing you at the session.
