REITs are one of the fastest growing asset classes in global real estate. Real estate investment trusts are widely recognized by investment managers as efficient vehicles for investing in high quality commercial properties of all types – hotels, office buildings, industrial assets and retail malls. Individual investors now have access to investments in commercial property that would have been beyond their reach without REITs. The growth in REIT market capitalization has been explosive and it is expected to continue near term in select markets. Singapore has already established itself as the listing center of REITs in Asia Pacific. Singapore is the preferred location for public companies to list new real estate investment trusts (REITs). What makes Singapore the right location for the listing of public real estate investment trusts? Why will the growth rate of REITs in Singapore continue to accelerate?
Hear from representatives of the Singapore Stock Exchange and senior managers from currently listed international REITs about their experience running public real estate companies based in Singapore.
