Please join us for an important discussion of where the Trans-Pacific Partnership stands, what we have done so far to urge Congress to approve it, and next steps for AmCham Singapore and the other TPP-country chambers in the Asia Pacific.
The need for action by the US Congress is urgent. While there are obvious obstacles to having the agreement passed and signed by January 5, 2017, the Administration believes there is a path to achieve this goal. Success will require strong and vocal support from us.
Recently, AmCham Singapore has met with delegations from USTR and the Senate Finance Committee, and is also participating in a conference call with the White House and State Department, to discuss the status of the TPP and the next steps of the government.
This meeting will give us a chance to review what we have learned and discuss what we plan on doing and the role of AmCham as an association and as individual members.
This meeting is timed to enable members to adjourn directly to the first-ever networking evening hosted by all the TPP country chambers in Singapore. Organized by the Latin American Chamber, this occasion will present opportunities to connect with executives from across the TPP span and to enjoy networking with a Mexican flair.
