Visit Microsoft’s new Cybercrime Centre in Singapore
Each year, there are now close to 400 million victims of cybercrime globally, costing public and private organizations billions of dollars in losses. What’s more, the increasingly ubiquitous connectivity of both consumers and businesses means malware and cyber threats are accelerating across the globe. No one government, company or organization can successfully fight cybercrime alone – the need for transnational knowledge sharing and strategic collaboration between public and private organizations to build a strong foundation for future innovation has never been more paramount. It is within this context that Microsoft recently launched its Asia Pacific Cybercrime Satellite Centre in Singapore. Established as an extension of the Microsoft’s global Cybercrime Centre in Redmond, USA, the Singapore facility acts as a nodal point to drive strategic threat intelligence sharing and cybersecurity partnerships with key industry and government stakeholders that foster a safer Internet ecosystem across Asia Pacific. Supported by 10 Microsoft Digital Crimes Unit (DCU) attorneys, 2 DCU investigators and 6 business analysts, the Centre provides a continuous feed of real-time threat information. The Microsoft team of international legal and technical experts leverages the Centre’s tools to aggregate and apply collated data as well as proactively share cybercrime fighting best practices with customers and industry partners on a global scale. Participants will learn about the different strategies cyber-criminals use to target individuals and organizations in APAC. They will experience a live data demonstration of the current cyber threats taking place across the region and understand how Microsoft’s team of technical and legal experts partners with customers, Governments and legal authorities to address cybersecurity threats in APAC. Later, participants can tour the Microsoft Technology Centre and see the future of innovation and Information Technology. Networking opportunities will be available at the start and at the end of the event.
Spaces are limited, maximum 2 members per company. Priority will be given to members in the Information, Communications, & Technology (ICT) committee.
