If you read business articles about HR, it can
be pretty depressing: HR does not get a seat
at the table when leaders create strategies; HR is cast in a support and service relationship to the business; the function should be eliminated, done by people in operations or blown up altogether. However, that
situation is about to change.
HR professionals will soon be called upon to deal with a host of known-unknowns – things we know that we do not know – which will have a huge impact on work and the global workforce by the middle of the century.
Seven shifts will affect companies in the near term. Look closely and you can see them happening soon.
With the publication of his book on human development, Measure of Man, as well as a white paper for ASEAN human development needs, Bob Aubrey will speak to AmCham members on the known-unknowns of HR and how to prepare HR as a strategic stakeholder leader.
