Roberto Vale, Client Service Director of Cartus joined us to share the the results on their latest series of policy and practices surveys that began in 2002. He explained the Key Survey Trends and Insights in details as members engaged him in a lively discussion on how the findings is useful to them.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Human Capital Committee discussed about Leadership Effectiveness. Group Executive Vice President, Asia Pacific Middle East, Right Management Bridget Beattie presented Right Management’s P3 Leader Model. Right Management is the global career and talent development expert within Manpower Group (NYSE: MAN). The P3 Leader Model is an efficient framework for companies to select and develop leaders. After the presentation, committee members were engaged in a very intense session of question and answer session.

On Thursday evening, the Human Capital Committee hosted a panel of industry experts who discussed about issues related to the recruitment industry. Topics discussed included the challenges facing recruiters and the evolution of the company culture.


On Thurday morning, Founder and CEO of ConneXionsAsia (CXA) Rosaline Chow Koo, presented suggestions on how to transform a firm’s current healthcare budget into a benefits and wellness program to improve employees health. The talk is part of AmCham’s Innovation Growth Series, supported by the Human Capital, Healthcare, ICT and SME/ Entrepreneur Committees.


One of CXA’s objective would be to shift the focus of employee benefits from treatment to prevention. Furthermore, they leverage on technology and analysis of empirical data to aid decision making. CXA has a platform to allow employers to view a Return on Investment (ROI) data. Subsequently, a cohort analysis is done to address the root cause of the claims. We comply with PDPA by encrypting personally identifiable data and by aggregating and anonymizing the information for HR.

On Thursday afternoon, the Human Capital committee analysed possible Human Resource issues and the possible impact on businesses. Entrepreur Bob Audrey led the meeting. As a writer, he has published 8 management books on the theme of work, learning and human development.  His most recent books are Measure of Man:  Leading Human Development McGraw  Hill  (2015); Creating  Aspirational  Leaders:  the  Global  Workforce Advantage McGraw  Hill  (2013),and Managing  Your  Aspirations:  Developing  Personal Enterprise in the Global Workplace McGraw Hill (2010). He has also written recent white papers on ASEAN human development priorities.

On Thursday, the Human Capital Committee discussed about potential programs for 2016. Co-chairs and members of the Human Capital committee also discussed about the possible direction for the committee in the year ahead.
