Essential American Policy Course Corrections in The Asia-Pacific

On Friday evening, the Aerospace & Defense and Government & Regional Affairs Committees hosted Kurt Campbell, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, The Asia Group, LLC, former U.S. Department of State Assistant Secretary for East Asia and Pacific Affairs for then-Secretary Hillary Clinton.

 

Topics discussed included America’s pivot to Asia and the implications of changing geopolitical dynamics in the South China Sea. He suggested that usage of the term containment is no longer appropriate to describe American foreign policy in Asia. Questions asked by the audience included the future of the strategic deep-water harbour Cam Ranh Bay.
