Human Capital Committee
About the Committee Committee Chairs

Mission: The Committee aims to keep AmCham members abreast of the current trends on Human Capital especially related to Leadership & Talent Management across Asia Pacific with focus on Singapore and to provide member input to the Singapore government on various Human Capital issues.

Industry Brief: Raising the level of professionalism amongst Human Capital practitioners and developing a highly competent workforce is essential for the sustained success of any business in Singapore and the Asia Pacific region.  During the past two decades, advances in Leadership practices, Talent Development and Workplace culture such as work-life balance, flexible work arrangements and fair employment have helped Singapore bring its Talent market in line with those of the most highly respected modern economies.  Human Capital practitioners are ever more competent in addressing core business issues regarding talent in tandem with a better understanding of how to accommodate the needs of Singapore’s highly-skilled but diverse workforce, which represent many of the huge economies in the Region with ethnic Chinese, Indian, Malays & Caucasians living & working here.

Building on these advances, Singapore’s labor market has successfully weathered the recent global economic turmoil with strong job gains and unemployment rates declining.  Singapore can be a role model for Asia Pacific as an incubator of cutting edge ideas on Human Capital Management for the entire Asia Pacific Region

Meetings: The Committee holds monthly meetings and invites speakers to share insights and discuss issues of concern to members. Register for upcoming Committee meetings here.
