Mission:
Formerly known as the Small and Medium Sized
Enterprises (SMEs) Committee,
the Entrepreneur Committee represents the interest of small-sized
enterprises
within AmCham through informative committee meetings with guest
speakers,
educational seminars and government advocacy.
Industry
Brief: Singapore’s
ability to foster and
attract world-class entrepreneurial talent is a key element of
maintaining the
economic dynamism and growth of the country and its partners. Over the past fifteen
years, local and
international entrepreneurs have worked closely with the government of Singapore
to create a pro-enterprise environment for up-and-coming industry
leaders.
As
a
testament to the seriousness of the country’s commitment to the growth
of small
and medium-sized enterprises, the World Bank ranked Singapore
as the easiest place to
do business for the fourth consecutive year in 2009.
Concurrently, Singapore
has been ranked fifth
worldwide in Access to Capital by the US Milken Institute (Capital
Access Index
2008). Singapore
will continue to seek to capture the international mindshare of the
next
generation of innovative and entrepreneurial business professionals by
providing them with the capital access, political will and regulatory
environment that is conducive to their success.
Meetings: The
Committee holds monthly meetings and invites speakers to share
insights and discuss issues of concern to members. Register
