AmCham Singapore has a strong community focus and undertakes a number of corporate citizenship initiatives.
We were proud to be awarded the 2004 International American Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award by the US Chamber of Commerce, Centre for Corporate Citizenship in recognition of this work.
The award was presented in Washington, D.C., to then Ambassador of the United States to Singapore, Franklin L Lavin, who received it on behalf of the Chamber.
 |
The Chamber was recognized for its work in three areas: corporate community work; initiatives on HIV/AIDS; and, university scholarships.
Thanks for this award must go to the hard work undertaken by AmCham members and the U.S. business community in Singapore who have contributed so much to the community in which we work.
AmCham has also developed an initiative with JHPIEGO to support the reconstruction of maternal health services and facilities in Aceh, Indonesia following the Indian Ocean Tsunami of 2004. |
Corporate Community Day and the partnership with JHPIEGO were initiatives of the AmCham Corporate Citizenship Committee.
The Committee meets regularly throughout the year and aims to be a facilitator, encouraging and enabling companies to take on greater involvement in corporate citizenship activities. For more information on this Committee, please email Ann-Maree Ashburn at amashburn@amcham.org.sg.
