Business Missions

AmCham organizes business missions to other countries in the Asia  to inform their governments and local business organizations about our members' regional operations and interests, and to convey our members' views on issues of concern in these countries.

U.S. Taxation
Responding to legislation in 2006 that significantly raised taxes on Americans working abroad, the Asia Pacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce (APCAC) is leading an effort with the active commitment of several AmChams, including AmCham Singapore, to support a coalition called the Alliance for a Competitive Tax Policy (ACTP).
Trade Liberalization
Continued progress on trade negotiations that open up markets for U.S. products and reduce tariffs and non-tariff barriers are essential to keep America competitive.
Washington Doorknock

AmCham Singapore members participate in an annual Washington DC Doorknock organized by the Asia-Pacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce (APCAC).  Delegates meet with members of Congress and the Executive Branch of the U.S. government and to share insights on how the U.S. government can support U.S. businesses operating in Asia and improve the world economy. 
International Schools

The AmCham Board of Governors created a Select Committee of the Board to focus on one of the greatest issues facing AmCham members today – ensuring their children have access to international schools

APCAC
AmCham is a member of the Asia-Pacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce (APCAC). Through 25 independent member AmChams located in 19 economies of the Asia-Pacific Region, APCAC represents the growing interests of over 10,000 business entities and over 50,000 business executives in the region. The APCAC membership manages trade volumes in excess of US$400 billion and direct investments (FDI) of over US$200 billion.
Corporate Community Day
Corporate Community Day, an AmCham initiative helps build stronger ties between American organizations and the Singaporean community. It also encourages employee volunteerism.
AmCham-SMU Scholarship
Every year, the AmCham-SMU scholarship awards $24,000 to a student who has demonstrated academic excellence, high co-curricular achievements, excellent leadership qualities and character and a demonstrated interest in business.

The APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) facilitates business travel, investment, and trade opportunities in the APEC region and ensures more efficient business travel.
